Description
TIOLABA INHA CAPS
Tiotropium Bromide 18 mcg Dry Powder Inhalation Capsules
Product Overview:
TIOLABA Inha Caps contain Tiotropium Bromide, a long-acting antimuscarinic antagonist (LAMA), often referred to as a long-acting anticholinergic. It is considered a “gold standard” maintenance therapy for patients with chronic respiratory obstructions. Unlike short-acting relievers, Tiotropium provides a full 24-hour bronchodilation with a single dose, effectively preventing the muscles around the airways from tightening and reducing the frequency of flare-ups.
Key Benefits & Uses:
- 24-Hour Airway Protection: A single daily dose provides round-the-clock relief, improving lung function throughout the day and night.
- Reduces Exacerbations: Clinically proven to significantly reduce the frequency of “lung attacks” or hospitalizations in COPD patients.
- Improved Exercise Tolerance: By keeping airways open, it allows patients to stay more active and reduces shortness of breath during daily physical activities.
- High Selectivity: Targets the M3 receptors in the lungs with high precision, ensuring effective bronchodilation with minimal systemic side effects.
Indications:
TIOLABA Inha Caps are specifically indicated for the long-term, once-daily, maintenance treatment of:
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
- Breathlessness Management: To reduce the severity of chronic shortness of breath.
- Prevention of COPD Flare-ups: To maintain stable respiratory health and prevent sudden worsening of symptoms.
Note: It is not intended for the initial treatment of acute episodes of bronchospasm (emergency use).
Dosage Information:
(Note: Use only as directed by your physician. Do not swallow these capsules.)
- Standard Adult Dosage: Inhalation of the contents of one capsule (18 mcg) once daily.
- Timing: For best results, it should be taken at the same time every day.
- Method: Must be used with a Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) device (such as the Inspihaler).
Product Information & Usage Guidelines:
- Active Ingredient: Tiotropium Bromide Monohydrate equivalent to Tiotropium 18 mcg.
- Format: Dry Powder Inhalation (DPI) capsules.
- Safety Precaution: If the powder gets into the eyes, it may cause blurred vision or pupil dilation. Always handle the device and capsules carefully.
- The “Rinse & Spit” Rule: While less prone to causing thrush than steroids, rinsing the mouth after use helps prevent dry mouth, a common side effect of anticholinergics.
- Storage: Store in a dry place below 25°C. Do not store capsules in the inhaler device; keep them in the original blister pack until immediately before use. Keep away from the reach of children.
