BUDEBEST DUO Respules
Product Range: Inspicare Respiratory Care
Composition: Levosalbutamol (1.25 mg) + Budesonide (0.5 mg)
Format: Inhalation Suspension (Unit Dose Vials for Nebulization)
Product Overview
BUDEBEST DUO Respules represents a synergistic combination aimed at managing obstructive airway diseases like Asthma and COPD with enhanced safety. It combines Levosalbutamol, a modern “cleaner” bronchodilator, with Budesonide, a trusted corticosteroid. This formulation is specifically designed to provide rapid relief from breathlessness while simultaneously treating the underlying inflammation, with significantly fewer cardiac side effects compared to traditional salbutamol combinations.
The Science of Dual Action
- Levosalbutamol (1.25 mg): This is the pure, active isomer of Salbutamol. It provides powerful relaxation of the airway muscles (bronchodilation) but with less risk of palpitations and tremors often associated with older bronchodilators. It works quickly to relieve chest tightness.
- Budesonide (0.5 mg): A potent anti-inflammatory agent that reduces swelling in the bronchial tubes and decreases mucus secretion. It complements the bronchodilator by preventing the airways from tightening up again.
Key Benefits & Uses:
- Superior Safety Profile: Because it uses Levosalbutamol, patients experience fewer side effects like increased heart rate or jitteriness, making it safer for cardiac patients and the elderly.
- Acute & Maintenance Care: Effective for managing acute exacerbations (flare-ups) where immediate airway opening and inflammation control are required.
- Ease of Breathing: The liquid suspension is nebulized into a fine mist, ensuring the medication penetrates deep into the lungs without requiring forceful inhalation from the patient.
- Synergistic Effect: The combination works better together than either drug alone—Levosalbutamol opens the path, allowing Budesonide to reach and treat the inflamed tissue effectively.
Standard Dosage Guidelines:
Dosage is always tailored to the individual patient’s severity and age. Below are the general clinical guidelines:
| Patient Group | Recommended Dosage | Frequency |
| Adults (18+ yrs) | One 2 mL respule | Twice daily (Morning & Evening) |
| Children (6–17 yrs) | One 2 mL respule | Twice daily |
| Children (< 6 yrs) | Not Recommended | Strength (1.25 mg) is typically too high for small children. |
- Severity Adjustment: In cases of severe exacerbation, your doctor may increase the frequency to 3 or 4 times daily, but this should only be done under medical supervision.
- Duration: Use this medication for the full duration prescribed by your doctor. Stopping early can cause symptoms to return or lead to a “rebound” inflammation.
How to Use?
- Prepare: Twist off the top of the single-dose unit (respule).
- Fill: Squeeze the liquid contents into the nebulizer cup. Do not mix with other medicines unless directed by a doctor.
- Nebulize: Sit upright and breathe normally through the nebulizer mask until the mist stops (usually 10-15 minutes).
- Cleanse: Very Important: Rinse your mouth with water and wash your face after use. This prevents oral thrush and prevents the steroid from irritating the facial skin.
Safety Information & Precautions
- Dual Action: Unlike standard Budesonide-only respules, the Levosalbutamol in this medication will provide quick relief for breathing difficulties. However, do not over-use it; excessive Levosalbutamol can lead to heart palpitations or tremors.
- Potassium Levels: Levosalbutamol can sometimes lower blood potassium levels. If you experience muscle weakness or cramps, inform your doctor.
- Sterility: Each respule is sterile. Use immediately after opening. Discard any unused solution in an open respule.
- Storage: Store protected from light (keep in the foil pouch). Do not freeze. Keep away from the reach of children.
- Prescription Only: This is a Schedule H drug. It must be administered strictly under the guidance of a Registered Medical Practitioner.
- Contraindications: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes, as the bronchodilator component can affect heart rate and blood sugar.
Notice: Take any medicine only on advise of a registered medical practitioner only.
